If it's a G56 then you should have also gotten the solid flywheel. If not, then I would think that you need one now. Whoever installed or sold it to you should have recommended this along with the upgraded hydraulics... If it's clattering pretty bad then I would not think it would be the slave cylinder...

Yea its the G56, also when we ordered the clutch from xtreme diesel and its a southbend not sure which one it io know it cost around 900-1000 dollars and when we droped it off at the shop we were told to get the upgraded hydraulics and we got a brand new solid flywheel also. So im not sure what is going on. The new clutch only has around 20 or 25 thousand miles on it.

my buddies truck did the exact same thing...he has the 2 piece flywheel... he was also pulling his 40fter when it happened... it made the shuttering and such... i was the one who got his trailer 4 him... he put in aftermarket. il have to ask the exact parts and labor adn il post it on what he had done...if i remember right it was costly...just my 2 cents but it sounds like the same thing.

Might be wise to drain the transmission fluid into a clean bucket. If it has big chunks of metal in it, at least you will know which component needs repaired. Maybe do this with the transfer case as well, after trying it in all its ranges to see if it makes a difference.

yea well i think were gonna just get rid of the truck, it has a southbend clutch in it and i cant afford really to repair the truck because i have an 05 dodge diesel a brand new 2006 dmax and now this 06 with problems and cannt afford to really drop alot of money in it. Im gonna wait until i have someone available to help me drop the tranny and see what im gonna do. Thanks
