wish i had a video...

woulda made a great commercial to rival chevys video of the pick-up towing a semi

yesterday i pulled an old freightliner, it had a lowboy trailer with a small cat dozer on the trailer. it was amusing...i pulled up and saw him blocking the lane with flashers on, and he was up under the fender looking at the motor. so i stopped next to him at the light in the turn lane and curiosuly asked whats wrong. he said it just cut out and wouldnt start. thats when i got cocky and asked him if i could pull him across the intersection to the far right emergency lane so he didnt block traffic.. after a little persuading...he agreed and i got my strap out and shackled it to the chain he had on the front of the truck...and had it strapped up to my hitch.

i got in, put it in 4low, 2nd gear and crawled him up and over the small hill at the intersection and about 100yds down to a pull off area...the truck didnt even really scream, i just took it very slow and steady and she chugged along with a NICE big puff of black. i had quite the audience as well and even a FERD owner stop to watch a real truck in action. man i would kill to have a video of that again...as well as have all my friends there to watch so they would believe it.

it was def. a fun event...and i would do it again in a heart beat with an even bigger load...this one was proabably only about 30-40k of rolling weight...no real resistance to it. small truck, small dozer, but still a sight to see.

I actually do have a video cam... Built in to my CAMERA! 20 Sec video clips... Better than nothing...

As for the pull... RIGHT ON!

If everyone on this site pulled him for 100 yards and got a picture of it you might even get him towed to a shop or to his delivery point!

Would've been nice to have a video with all the traffic around. Alot of jaws open I am sure...

Good on ya.. The best part is it sounds like you didn't do like all the V-8 vids I have seen and just mash the throttle with smoke, axle hop and uncontrolled driving.. Calm and Cool....
