Why are the Ford guys so touchy about their trucks?

I guess if I spent $50,000 on a new truck and had it in the shop constantly I'd be a little touchy to. It's just not right what ford did to their customers.

Guys....I think this says it ALL. This was taken from that thread...

Its not a bad motor, at all, and other than the Motor, Cummins, the Dodge has no redeeming qualities.

Thumbs down Buybacks

My neighbor having had awful luck with his '99 7.3 read all of Ford's hype and bought an '03 6.0 Ford bought it back two weeks later due to engine failure and electronic meltdown and replaced it with another. This one's been a big dissapointment to him also. He frequents the desert here in San Diego County and is influenced by the "HERD MENTALITY". A co-workers' friend is on his third one. The latest truck has worked out well thank goodness.

I agree,I would probably be behind bars if I paid 50 grand for something that was at the dealers half the time for repairs. My 92 has its quirks but I'll put the nessary money into it when the time comes.

I liked this phrase....

"On the original question of a Dodge i am thinking of going that way. I ran with a guy last month hauling FEMA trailers with an 05 Dodge set up the same as my truck. He consistantly got 2-3 mpg better towing and 3-4 mpg better empty. At the price of todays fuel that says something and how often do you hear of a cummins grenading a block or eating injectors?"

How about the $80 replacement air filter?
$83 replacement fuel filter?
$57 replacement serpentine belt?

i can't imagine spending that on routine maintenance on a truck that might not make it another 6k miles for another servicing....

Are you serious? 83.00 for a fuel filter? Holy crap. I thought my FASS filters were expensive. I am a firm believer that it is a blind lemming like atraction to ford. My dad had a 94 f150 that ran great and still does with 175,000 miles. But he paid 16,500 for it in 95' and expected it to run this long. My Uncle is a CFO for Crenwelge dodge in texas and got my dad into a 03 1500 that he absolutly loves. He wanted a ford but ended up buying a dodge. Family does not steer you wrong, it was a good desision. So drink up. BTW Jim Beam Black is 86 proof. Oh god............................................... ...............
