touchy brakes

The brakes on my wifes truck 98 3500 are real touchy at times and want to throw you thru the windshield. Does anybody have a fix for this

My truck does this too but only when it is damp out. So I would like to hear about a fix.

thats usually a sign of the master going bad....like when you first try and slow roll out of your drive way and touch the brakes and they grab like you stomped on em.

Your master cylinder is shot. Get yourself a new one, and call it a day.

Mine does that when it has sat for awhile or when it’s damp out. Clears up after applying the break a couple of times. Been doing this for over 2 yrs. haven't had to replace anything yet.

in the 2000 manual grabby brakes only have two causes, low power steering pump flow and bad hydroboost. Some aftermarket pads will get really grabby after they get wet.

Mine's done the same thing since day one...I drive a work truck and my Dodge sometimes only gets drove every two or three days or so...and that's when I notice it most. Goes away after a few brakes.

Mine used to do that. I adjusted up the rear brakes and it went away.

My buddy's 99 dually rear brakes grab instantly 95% of the time. Warmed up or cold, wet or dry.

Does that sould like what you have? Been trying to get him to bring it by the shop, but so far, he just cusses and keeps driving it.

Sound like the MC? Bad proportioning valve? What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Ed

my 99 started to do that after i put aftermarket rotors and pads on. usually after a long sit or after a night of rain.

Almost always happen when my wife is about to sip her coffe.

My friends 94 dose the same, he uses the same aftermarket parts....
