what are the odds....

.... of this combination..... back before i got my Goerend tranny, when i still had my stock crap that would stay at 3K at and after every shift, i could peg my 1600* pyro on a nice hard pull with a 100 plate.... now that i got a solid tranny i can only get to 1350*-1400* maybe on a hard pull with no plate? is it cause the motor is not just all strung out like with the origional tranny..... i'm not complaining but i was just wandring.....

and on a side note what are the affects(sp) of cooler ambient temp on EGT's.... reason i ask is i normally run my boost at 34-35psi on my stock charger.... well a friend of mine was runnin his mouth about his 2000 F-350 flowersmoke infront of his friends trying to be all big bad and cool and all....well i agree to see who could accelerate from point A to point B fastest.... of course with everyone watching..... back to the question..... it was a cool night..... low 50's high 40's and i went ahead and cranked the boost on up.... 42psi or so.... would the cold outside air make it (the heated wastefull 42psi) cool enough to make any more power than 35 psi? and also on this run my pyro NEVER got over 1200*........ but anywho after i shifted into second and the converter locked it was all over but the crying...... and he had the nerve to tell me infront of all his friends..... and i quote " I would have won too if i sprayed nitrous..... i could hear it when you passed me...." and i proceeded to open up both my doors, hood and toolbox and said "no nitrous here...... look all you want..." everyone was going over my truck like a momma monkey picking bugs off their baby...... then he said i had more done to my truck then he did to his...... whatever...... 5.9L > 7.3L

so if anyone can answer some of my questions it would be greatly appreciated.....

yup that is correct.... i'm not scared of the people who say " there's a pin in there that'll break..... i don't know where it is..... but it's in there trust me..." i like it.... it feels a little peppier than before.... no EGT problems yet.... well nothing that isn't managable....

So how hard is it not to smoke things out if you bump the fuel pedal? My horseshoer wants me to help crank up a 96 that he was looking at buying. Just pulling the plate out would be alot simpler than sitting there grinding on the plate.

with the star wheel in the stock position and the afc housing almost full forward the smoke isn't really bad at all.... only smokes when i romp on it or lug it (locked in drive or overdrive at a low speed) if the starwheel is turned full forward then it'll get a little smokey till boost comes in ..... mine has a slight haze at WOT whick will be cleared up once i put the nitrous on it..... anyway PM me and i'll help you out on any advice on that 12valve.....

so back to the questions above..... anyone have any answers or theorys?

You hotrod guys know a lot more than me about all this, but colder air is more dense, thus having more oxygen= more power. I know its enough for me to tell it on my harley on a cold day vs. hot day
