General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Um, Why?

I've seen some of those beds offered by aftermarket companies. Need a picture from the rear. The aftermarket ones still used the Dodge tail lights, bit I have seen one with a chevy bed on it too. Tail lights are the dead givaway.

Now I remember why I hate stepside pickups! Because they look stupid. The only stepside I'd want would be a '53 ford F100. I can't stand when someone takes something inherently useful and renders it useless with a form that has no function all in the name of bad taste.

My bumper-pull trailer can't tell the difference, but I can when I park at Walmart or in my garage.

Can still fit my dirtbike AND atv in the back, just can't close the tailgate.

You wouldn't notice a stepside either if you're pulling from the bumper. I don't see how a stepside is more a waste of a truck than a shortbox is, considering they are the same length, width between the wheel wells, and height.

I have a stepside bed, as mentioned in my sign on name, but I do like it, however it is on a half ton, which is the main reason i mind it, at the time I bought the truck I wasnt going to do any real hauling or towing so i went with the little truck and narrow bed mainly because it looked a little sportier, now that I am doing much more hauling and will be doing some heavy towing, I desperately need the 3/4, just wish the bank would see it my way. I lost track of my point...oh yeah even having the step side bed I find that I am not all to limited in what i can carry, often times the increase i would get in having a fleetside bed isnt really substainsal

Not that looks matter, but...

Off topic, but you ever notice a short-bed quad cab looks way better proportioned than a long box quad cab? Of course the opposite is true for the mega cab.

It wasn't my cup of tea either but then niether is putting on a bunch of gawdy crap. Chrome fender edges really get me going. How can anybody think they look anything but taco. To each his own and do what ever you want to your truck you're paying for it.
