Unhappy Stupid Question (front Wheel)

I went to check the front brakes on my '89 ctd w250, jacked the front end up, took the lug nuts off, pulled on the steel tire and wheel.........hum, yanked on it again.........hummm. I tried everything to get that wheel off, nothing worked. Do I use a sledge and smack the tire? I have never had this problem with other trucks. Whats the secret? BIGGER HAMMER? Bought the truck a couple months ago.

yep... maybe spray/soak the hub area with a good penitrating oil then the BFG and a slab of hardwood if you need to smack the wheel [to try and minimize wheel damage]

and once it is off, put a snot load of antiseize between the wheel and the mounting flange and hub... even brand new trucks can seize the wheel to hub within a few 1,000 miles...
