Exclamation October “TOM Candidate" Sign-Up thread

For all of you "DIESEL CONVERSION" fans,,,,,,,,,,,
That will be the DTR Truck Of the Month category for this month of October.

If you have a ride that didn't come from the factory with a diesel in it and now it's powered by good old #2 fuel,,,,,,,,,,,
OR
It came with one brand of diesel motor and now it runs another brand,,,,,,,,

POST YOUR PICS in this thread!

**********************************************
Truck Of the Month Procedure for 2008

The DTR TOM Staff has come up with a new procedure for choosing the TOM candidates.

* Around the 1st of the month, we will post a thread with the winner for the previous month’s poll in the General Diesel Discussion section of the forums.

* At the same time, we will post a “TOM Candidate” thread in the same forum. In this thread we will announce the category of trucks that will be accepted as possible candidates. (1st Gen 250, 350, 2nd Gen 2500, 3500, 3rd Gen 2500, 3500, MegaCab, etc.)

* If your truck falls into the chosen category for that month and you would like to have a chance to be in the poll, then you can nominate your truck by posting a picture from your gallery in that thread.
* NOTE: The picture MUST come from your Diesel Truck Resource Member Photo Gallery! (Anything else will be deleted.)

* You can also list some of the mods and accessories on your rig in the same post. Please post only once in that thread because the TOM committee will select three trucks from that thread to be in the poll. The process for selecting the three candidates from this thread will be completely at random. If your truck is not selected for the poll or it is but it doesn't win, you may nominate it again when your category comes back around.

* Previous Winners of the TOM will not be eligible to participate. (Previous Winner being defined as truck and/or DTR Member)

* The “TOM Candidate” thread will be open from around the 1st of the month until around the 14th of the month. That gives you two weeks to submit your truck.

* At this time it will be locked, the three poll candidates will be chosen at random and the poll will be posted on or around the 15th . The poll will be voted on until the end of the month and we start all over again on the 1st of the next month by posting the winner in one thread and posting the “TOM Candidate” thread for the next month's category.

Special THANKS to Tim Barber at TRE Diesel Performance for sponsoring the TOM Award plaques!

Nice one doznfire, not much of a classic Chevy fan as I am Dodge or Ford (I know I'm oddball), but that is a sweet truck man!

I am trying to get into this one but i cant attach the pictures at the moment.

Its a 1980 International Scout Terra, it has a 3.4L Cummins in it. Using the turbo from the old 3.3L Nissein Diesel engine. And the same 4 speed manuel that it came with. Its a fun little truck great for pulling stumps in tight places but not so hot on the freeway.

Pictures have alread been seen in this thread.

Ill try to get the pictures posted in unless someone knows how to do it easily.

Remember that the pics MUST to be in your DTR gallery for your truck to be eligible, attachments are not acceptable.

Alright im gonn try to attach some pictures now

          Cool i got it.

Like i said before it this little girls my fathers, she is an International Scout Terra. Originally the scout had a Nissan Diesel, unfortunately do to too trying to maintain highway speeds one of the pistons melted. My dad wanted another diesel in it and what was recommended was this little 3.4L I6 Cummins. I believe that it is suppose to be a generator engine but I am not sure. It has the original 4 speed, with 4.10 gears in the diffs. It’s a great little truck for working in timber do to its small size but large low end great. This little truck was what turned me on to Cummins.

Hmm, i have no idea. How would you be able to tell? Now that i think about it the guy had to manufature something to do with the fly wheel to get everything to hook up right. I dont know though and i am a long ways away from the scout now.
