Almost out to me means 1/8 tank

I stand corrected!

I drive a 40 mile round trip daily, plus city stop and go. On the weekends, a 35 foot camper or a 14000lb boat is hooked up. I average 18.5 on most tanks. Yea, it cost to fill it, but you gotta drive something fun that people move outta the way of.

From: Well I thought I lived in America, but its looking more like france every day.
I would throw that honda in the shed, and get that turbo whistling.

But I know its nice to ge that 30 mpg also. Lots better on the bank account..

When I got my diesel I couldnt stop driving it. People would always tell me that once you get a diesel you will never own another gas truck and they were right! these rigs are awsome.

Do this while towing 12k and then come and tell us the results!! Do this consistently until your mileage begins to climb!

Sounds strange but it works!!

Thanks for the welcome!
I know the MPH will increase as the rings begin to get seated. I am a FIRM believer in the "don't baby it" method!! I broke in the Acura and the YFZ450 the same way!! LOL!!

I would get a Battery Minder Plus and put it on the truck if you are gonna leave it for weeks on end. It will keep the batteries fully charged, desulfated and ready to go.
Thanks for the tip. Is this the "standard" battery charger that you can get from Sears, etc??
Desulfated???? Whats THAT all about??

What is a honeydew??? Some kind of sponge pipe stuffer? Wouldn't whatever went up into the tail pipe come shooting out upon startup?? LOL!!

Half hour trips are plenty long for full warm-up, though. There is a oil to water heat exchanger hiding behind the filter, so the 3 gallons of oil are warm as soon as the coolant is. You just don't want to be making a habit out of 10 minute hops. That goes for any vehicle - not just a diesel.
Cool!!! Thanks for the info! I thought I read somewhere (manual maybe??) that you are to pull the start wire?? and crank the motor over a few times after it has been sitting for extended periods of time in order to get the oil flowing into all areas before startup??? Anyone know anything about this??

Wow!! 4000 miles in ONE MONTH!!!???? DANG!!! I'll be lucky to put that much on my truck in one year!! LOL!!

I was totally ROTFLMAO when I read that!! LOL!! True, people DO seem to pay more attention to you when you are in one of these rigs!!

Who knows, I may decide to "throw the Honda in the shed", but I also hate paying 100+ bills to fill up the tank!! I have to admit though, I DO love this truck!! I plan on keeping it for AT LEAST 15 more years!! Who knows... maybe it will be fully broken in by then LOL!!
5,000 miles per year X 15 yrs...... 75,000 miles... Yep.. should be pretty well broken in by then.... LOL!!
