That went grounded? Much less 2 of them and maybe even all 3 in a Lombardini 3 cylinder diesel.

For sure the one I could easily get too grounds from the stud to ground on the machine, and the wire that goes to the other two also grounds.

It killed an 80A fuse in the switch module I changed out for a new one that came within a whisker of blowing it's fuse before I realized what had happened.

My old Furd just wouldn't light 'em all off if one was bad, but I had never heard of them grounding.

 

Over time they can melt/burn up , if it happens just right , it can ground .
If you disconnect the power source to glow plug , each one needs to be separated , just stud , then use a multi meter to check resistance [ not sure what the spec is ] but not low , like .03 ohms .

 

over tightening them can cause it to crimp and ground.

 

This particular machine has been pretty troublesome from the start. Maybe it was built on a Monday or a Friday.

The "first" plug I can see. It shows zero resistance on two Multimeters (one Analog and one Digital) with the wires off of it. The others will take some doing to get to, but at least one of them is also zero.

New ones are on order from the factory.

I just find it odd that they fail grounded. In my old Ferd they failed open.

 

Some times they will burn out & not make a ground , its common they fail both ways .

 

Be a good idea to check the new ones, compare new readings against the old suspect plug readings so you'll have a baseline reference for later - mark the new and old values in your manual

 

What current are they suposed to draw? Voltage = Resistance X Amps 12 divided by amps =R

 

what is the machine that is using that engine?

I know that woodmizer sawmills used to use a lombardini, but only for a couple of years and then switched to kubota, and now cat too. I heard a lot of people had a lot of grief with the lombardini engine...

Uses a Lombardini LW1003 engine. And come to think of it we've had a head gasket blow on one too.
