Question The bizarrest thing I have ever heard of!

We were informed today at work that a most bizzare thing has happend at the municapality's Health and Human Resorce center. A man walked into the building and asked to see a doctor, said his stomach wasn't feeling well, the nurse asked what are the symtoms, he said nausious feeling and bloating. She noticed his belly was quit "large". She had him take a seat and got a doc, by this time his belly was HUGE and gurgling badly. The doc went to call a ambulance and get this guy to the hospital. Well, before they could get there this guy's stomach BLOW'S UP! This is not a joke. I guess there was "matter" blown all over the wall and such. The building was shut down and repairs are in progress now to get reopened on monday.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I thought it was a hoax at first, but it's not. Our bodyman told us about this and he couldn't remember what the cop called it. Gotta be the strangest thing I ever heard!

I am a mechanic for the city on heavy equipment, the cop shop is right next to us, our body guy talked to a police officer about it. Hard to think he would say something like that if it wasn't true. As for a "natural" occurance, that is too bizzare, but like you said , maybe he swallowed something? I will try to find out more and post back.

You ever feed a seagull a Alkulseltser (sp)? ...One blowed up birdy.

(" AKDSLDOG HAS NEVER TAKEN PART OF FEEDING BIRDS, THIS WAS TOLD TO ME BY MY FATHER, WHEN HE WAS YOUNG BACK IN NEW YORK THEM USED TO FEED THE GULL'S ALKUSELTSER FOR FUN" ) <<<<------- PLEASE DON'T ASK.

Maybe he drank a bunch of Alka-Seltzer and forgot to put them in water. This works on ducks.
Maybe there is some connection to the exploding frogs that were on the news, or maybe spontanious combustion?

Yeah... OK. It's not on Snopes yet, but I'm sure it'll be there soon. Humans can burp out any extra gas, so we won't expand and blow up.

well until the other day i never heard of a healthy teeneger poppin a hole in the lung either.

i do know sometimes after surgury air pumped into the system cannot escape and build pressure, this happened to my former boss, couldnt get it out either end for a couple days and was very uncomfortable because of it, so i do believe its possible.
