Dual clutch automatics the new trans?

They've been out for a little while and I just started seeing what they are about. They have two clutches. One operates the odd gears the other the even.

It gets the next gear queued up so all it does is apply... mean time the next gear is already queued up.

I still haven't figured out how they get you going from a stop. No torque converter. Must be computer controlled starts.
