STOP USING FUEL OIL TO HEAT YOUR HOMES YOUR BREAKING US UP

GET A CHAIN SAW AND BURN WOOD

Then maybe the cost of lumber will go sky high and I can get some Logging done .

OHIO $2.15 gal

Ive been pouring a gallon of veg oil per 10 gallons of fuel @ the station. to save $$$

DM

Not really unless it'll work I think veg oil is cheaper than diesel

cost of diesel

wish the long haul truckers would boycott and draw some attention to what the hell is going on.

the nation would not listen to us but you bet they would when their goods stopped getting delieverd for a short period of time.

i would love to see a 10 mile long convoy showing up on the stairs of the u.s. capital. man, you bet that would make the news.

The last time we had a drought here in Florida, the utility company said use less water. So we did. They raised the price of water to make up for the lost profits because we were using less water. I fear a boycott would do the same with fuel. They WILL make their profits... We're at their mercy as long as we're using fuel to mogate.

They did that years ago and it did not acomplish a hole lot as I remember it. Although my myemory of it is not real good as I was not old enough to drive yet at that point. My grandparents drove truck for many years and I remember them talking abought it. They stayed home for part of the time but adventualy went back on the road. The problem was that it was not orginized enough and not enough trucks sat still long enough.

My wife works for a large trucking company and does all there billing. She said that they charge the customer as much as 15 cents a mile for fuel surcharge. That verys with the National Average. That is why they keep going and dont complain so much, they just pass the cost on now instead of getting there panties in a bunch over cost of fuel. She said the National Average fuel cost is $2.092 rite now. Last week it was $2.05somthin.

If they started boycotting fuel prices i'd drive from SD to Washington and park my truck right along side the big rigs just to peev someone off. Saw a place in town now at $1.13 up 4 cents from my post on this very subject just a few days ago. Heard on the news because of the fear of a "cold winter" (as if there are a lot of hot winters) people (IE oil companies) are stocking up on oil for winter fuel usage. Sounds like they've seen one to many of these End of Days, Post apocolyptic, Permanent iceage movies and they all think the end is near. Sheesh its winter not the end of mankind and the start of a new iceage for god sake. Then i can see it now. When summer roles around theyll raise it again and say its because we all survived the "winter of 100 years" and now we all want to rejoice by driving across the country and the demand is just too high. So i suspect this time next year in preparation for what im sure will be the worst winter ever (again) theyll raise it even more and well be paying about $5.00 a gallon by then. And they know we will because you have to eat and you have to work to get money to eat and you have to buy fuel to go to work to get money to eat. Then it will be like the old mining days were the oil companies will own everyones sould because we will all be in debt to them because we dont make enough in a month to actually buy food pay for shelter and FUEL. So well just get deeper in debt. Like the song says ... [haul] 16 ton and what do ya get?....

Not even close to off rant!

fuel boycott

yeah, a boycott on D.C. would be good. it would give me a reason to load up the ram and head to the east coast from socal. been looking for a reason to go visit my brother and his family in bethesda and i would take great pleasure telling some politician off while standing next to my cummins on the u.s. capital :-)

hell, i would probably end up getting thrown in the can.

dhe9 in san diego
p.s. good news/bad news. unleaded is once again more expensive than diesel here. :-(

Our only hope for diesel prices dropping is that the EPA forget about the new sulfur specs on diesel. I am beginning to think that the reason prices are going up are that oil companies are padding their pocketbooks in preparation for the changes they must make to meet these new regulations....which must lower sulfur content to 15ppm. Currently they allow 500ppm so that is quite a change. It will definetly cost refiners more money to meet these specs and "you know who" will pay. Oh, by the way, these new regulations start taking effect in 2006. If interested look up: http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/fuels/diesel/diesel.htm
