That's why we're there. Iraq has the most and the highest quality crude in relatively shallow wells. The country that controls Iraq's oil controls the world's oil market. If Bush succeeds, we'll be set for a long time. If he fails, we're in for some big changes in the energy department. The WMD were cleared out before we ever went in. It's all clear as crystal if you stand back and look at the big picture. Or you can follow the rhetoric from either side like lemmings over a cliff. Both sides are lieing. Both are avoiding mention of Saudi Arabia like a plague for some reason.

In good old (not so) sunny (today, anyway) Southern California, I have a Union station directly across the street from a Circle-K market. Both sell diesel-2.

Union station . . . . $2.69

Circle-K . . . . . . . . . $2.25

I've been buying gas and diesel from the Circle-K for years with no problems.

OH, and last week on Hwy 395 near the Tioga Pass (East entrance to Yosemite Valley), price of diesel was $2.99 vs. $3.09 for premium gas.

The sad part of this story is........no matter what the "Big Boys" raise the price to, we are still going to pi$$ and moan about it, even after we fill up the tanks again tomorrow when the price has gone up yet again.

The solution is simple. For just (1) single, simple 8 hr day, all of the American workforce would call in sick for work - construction workers, food retailers, police, medical profession, transportation, etc - etc ...........

By the time the 5 o'clock whistle blew in the evening and no one heard it, heads would have already rolled from way high up.........and all it would have cost you is (1) sick day from work.

hmmmmm..........and I get (15) paid sick leave days per year ! ! !

Here in Southern California AKA "the highst priced fuel in the nation" the news said we might get a break by next week. They say it might get down to $2.00 but I wont hold my breath. I have been paying $2.75 here in San Diego for Chevron #2.

Not to be rude, but what possible effect will this have on fuel prices? I don't see the connection between everyone taking off a day from work and fuel prices falling.

83.6 cents/Litre

Diesel just went up this weekend to 83.6 cents/litre here in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Multiply that x 3.78 litres/U.S. gallon equals $3.16 U.S./gallon
Increased diesel 11.4 cents/litre this weekend.

Gasoline went to 86.6 cents which equals $3.27 U.S./gallon

At least in the STATES, your presidents get shot.
(MYSTERIOUSLY)
In Canada we promote our Prime Ministers to full retirement with full pay for their STUPIDITY.

We repair the vacuum pumps for the vapor recovery pumps used at all the terminals to fill the tankers, and when I raised this question to one of the terminals that called us for a vacuum pump, I was told that the "suppliers" are holding back on their shipments because they are expecting a colder than normal winter and will need the "oil" for heating.
So let me figure, should I raise our price on these pumps because of supply and demand, I DON'T think so, and I will not, but I'd like to here from the tanker drivers that haul our fuel, there are only a few suppliers for these systems, and they put another squeeze on the suppliers when their systems are down, and that SUCKS.

Sad truth is "THEY'LL DO IT FOREVER" cuz the BUREAUCRATS know the U.S. and Canadian public can't stand together long enough to do something about it. The equal or vast majority are TOO INTO THEMSELVES to worry about what problems the next person has even though it's the SAME **** problem as their own. That's why IRAQ has lasted as long as it has against the forces. They stick together in it's beliefs. I still don't agree with IRAQ---- I'm not a sympathsizer for them but I do see their strength. It's in morals and belief. We don't have that strength UNTIL something happens to us personally and then we get all "OK NOW LETS GET EM" attitude and by then it's TOO late.
There's too many rich bureaucrats supporting their politicians and getting benefits and discounts to let the little guy get stung with the debts and penalties of the politicians mistakes.
We need politicians like we need lawyers. AND unfortunely the landfills are already too full to get rid of either one.
