Who would consider Biodiesel?

I'm extremely interested in Biodiesel. But it's not very avalible in east texas. I would love to check it out seeing that Ultra low is only good for killing VP44's.

Does anyone have the same feeling about Biodiesel?

I run it all the time. Its available several places in Dallas.
It should be getting out your way in a while. All of the trucking in East Texas will get it started up soon.

I haven't noticed much of a difference in the long term, other than it's 30-40 cents more expensive.

I've run quite a bit of it, up to 100% bio and it burns just fine. It might be my imagination, but it seems like it is quieter on bio... ?

have an extra fuel filter on hand, bio is known for cleaning all the crud out of your fuel system and sometimes clogging the filter.

Did you finally get your rig road worthy?
Pour it in and go! Shure as heck won't hurt to try. Like said above, motor will run smoother, vp will smile and OPEC will choke. We need to create a bigger demand for it.

No it's in the shop getting a bosch vp.

That is what i think. If we create a bigger demand and all these refineries get built. http://www.biodiesel.org is a great website. I think it will become a great fuel us oil burnners can use. Stick it to those OPEC guys. Well they will just sell it to china. But still they won't be getting our money. Teach them not to bite the hand that feeds them.

We don't have a choice here in Minnesota. Diesel has 2% biodiesel already blended in. It is supposed to be better than the old diesel fuel as far as pump lubrication. Technically not requiring any additives. Who wants to experiment??
If you add about 8 oz of PS at a cost of $1.25 and get 20 mpg it cost you $.003125 per mile more so the additive is pretty cheap.
Even if the stuff does nothing, it is reassuring that at least you tryed something to add life of the IP.

I hope that being there is a new Bio plant going on line by the end of the month 18 miles from me that someone in town will start to carry it for me to try it out. That is unless it higher priced like some places I've seen in MN.

I have run 20% in both VW's without a problem but have not tried it in the truck. The station that had it last summer was out of the way and I didn't take the truck down there that much otherwise I would have tried it.

They quit selling it over the winter but will probably have it again soon. The price was $.20/gal cheaper if I recall correctly.

I've been running biodiesel in both my trucks and it sure has helped out. This ULSD doesn't work in my trucks too good. I definently noticed a difference when I put the biodiesel in versus running the straight diesel. I've changed my fuel filter once since I've run it, and yes it does clean out the tank. It was pretty black. Interestingly enough, there were no chunks. I figured I'd change it again soon to see if anything else comes out.

I've run B-20 for the last 3 years or so. No problems what so ever.

I run B100 for most of the year, and B80 when the weather is cold.
