NC Department of Revenue require montly payments.

Form GAS-1260 Blenders Return will handle that. They wont take that until you have your Federal license number.

You have to keep a check on the tax rates so you pay the right amount.

You also have to keep records of all your tax paid blending fuel so you can show proof of your usage.

If your usage is enough you have to get bonded also.

 

As far as I know they are not subject to any additional taxes.

Basically if your engine burns it as fuel you had better pay the road fuel tax!

Even if you were trying to burn your oil change oil you will get the $2000 fines if you get caught!

Any amount in your tank will get you a fine!

No I never heard a word.

State of NC is running fuel checks on the interstates now in the western part of the state.

So be careful if you travel our state.

 

Hold on a second... Illinois passed a law which allows folks from that state to burn vegetable oil (as an alternative fuel) as long as, at the end of the year, they pay Illinois the road tax for the gallons of veg they used (same as the road tax on Diesel which is paid at the pump). There's a form Illinois provides which gives vegetable oil/alternative fuel users an exemption from having to pay big bucks and register as a large volume alternative fuel producer, thus eliminating the stiff penalties that could be handed down upon a low volume veg user if they were not compliant as a mass-producer. So how in the Hell is NC going to fine a person when their home state says its legal for them to burn veg!? At the very least, a person from Illinois should be able to pass through NC or any other state with their veg system "off" (running on Diesel) and not suffer any fines for having a spare tank full of vegetable oil! Its absolutely absurd in these times that an alternative fuel user is fined for pioneering a way to reduce our countries dependency on foreign oil, while at the same time helping to reduce the negative consequences oil has on our Military Men and Women risking and loosing their lives stabilizing oil nations! The very folks trying to make an actual difference (vs. those who just b*tch, moan, complain and do nothing) are being punished for their highly commendable patriotic efforts!

 

How? The same way the state of Michigan has been pushing for the use of alternative energy. The governor has enacted all kinds of programs, tax breaks and incentives to encourage the use of wind, solar and geothermal energy sources. The guy down the street took advantage of these programs/incentives and when he built his new million square foot hydroponic greenhouses, installed every alternative energy option known to man. He has 2 wind generators, 2 acres of solar collectors and a geothermal system that encompasses another 3 acres. Spent well over 5 million for all of it not including the greenhouses themselves. This year he found out that the state gave the power to cities and towns to tax these energy producing systems as real property despite all the tax breaks, and that's just what our town did. So now he owes an additional $14,000 in property tax every six months. Some incentive, huh?

 

OUCH!

Perhaps that guy would've been better off parking a couple giant Diesel generators (converted to run Veg) on his property? He'd have more than enough electricty to run his home and possibly some left over to sell back to the grid w/out ever having incurred a $14k Property Tax increase every 6 Months! The initial investment plus one years worth of that property tax increase ($28k) would've bought a nice generator or two, along with a couple storage tanks and there'd be money left over..... for years to come!

 

Man its a good thing this didn't happen to me. I don't have such good manners with over-authorized authority. I probably would have either run or decked the guy. What a shame.

 

get a locking gas cap... if they pull you over tell them they can dip it when they get a warrant!

 

Doesn't work, they will either tell you to park the vehicle or dip the tank ( or pull fuel from the filter.....)

 

How is it possible to have your personal fuel tank dipped without a search warrant? A good Lawyer would get the case dismissed for illegal search.

 

You have already given those rights away when you drive on public roadways. Why should I pay for roads and not you?
