I'd say it has a small crack, oh, about 8" long.

The crack appeared before Rockingham's 11.54 run and it was only about 3in long. I decided to go ahead and do it and ran the 11.54. The crack didn't like that at all so now I am left with this. Any of your guys know anybody at Cummins that will help me out with a block?? Any suggestions would be a great help for that matter. Repair isn't even an option.

I know there is a place in Texas that repairs blocks....I know, I know, but listen. We had a 3508 Cat out of a D11. The counter weight bolts broke and spit this 50ish, 60ish pound counter weight out the side of the block. The block alone was around $50,000 if I remember correcty. There was a GIANT hole in the side of this block. We sent it off and a couple weeks later got it back and you could not tell unless you looked inside from the bottom. It was an 800hp motor and 2200-2300 ftlbs of torque. Just a thought, but I guess if the 53 block is already bad....from the factory, would it be worth it or strong enough?
