what oil do you use in the winter?

^^I bought a lifetime membership at Cummins in Calgary that gives you 10% off all parts etc for $40. It paid for itself in 2 oil changes. Don't know how much it is now but maybe you should ask about it.

I've got a lifetime too.........the "Power booster club" program was cancelled a couple years ago. but they still honor the cards. they changed the program and you have to pay every year. and a bunch of other nonsense. its not nearly as good as our "Power Booster"

One thing I did notice when I got this last pail...gotta look at the labels real close. The 5/40 was 96 for a pail...after I looked a bit closer I saw that it was a synthetic blend...not 100% synthetic. I think we get a good price for their oils because of the refinery being on the north edge of the city. Looked into the Coop brand and their products are rated superior to many others. Never knew that til I noticed that is all they use at work.

Petrocanada 5W40 duron stuff. I think that it protects my turbo better than conventional oil. Just by doing the old impeller turbo twist, I can see a different between normal oil and synthenic oil. Makes for a nice rust proofing for the rest of the truck. I've been running that oil for three to four year now. It makes my floor slippery when I change oil

I have both cards and i didn't bother to renew this year as the guys at cummins don't care. The nice thing about the old card is that it has your engine number printed on it so i just hand it to the parts huy and he's good to go.

That would be real handy. Even better, would be if they kept the engine SN on their files with your shopping history. What a pain to try and get copper injector sealing washers without the S/N. Had to go through all my history at Cummins to find when I had purchased them previously. Sucks when the engine data plate is stuck away in the shed somewhere.
