Where is the powdercoater located at? Just wondering if a guy could go there and pick some colors?

I just pay them in cash, so I get to the top of the list pretty quick. Last stuff I had done, the stuff was done that afternoon. They do nice work, but they don't do the ceramic stuff.

I was thinking we could do the compressor housings in the shiny ceramic. The turbine housings in the blackish green and VHT them flat black. They should stand-up and not rust-up. Going to dip inside and out on the tubes.

I'm curious to see how the new S476 stacks up to the old standard S475.

You guys have me wanting to rip and tear into my 2010, with all this twin talk.

I had all my Candy Blue parts done at Top Gun. Was usually a week turn around on them. My rear bumper I had done at Silverline in Airdrie. Turn around was a day or two, going from steel that had sat out side for many years to a real nice finish. Not sure if they have a large colour selection, I was only interested in flat black for my bumper.

Might want to look to see if the speckled finish is thicker/tougher. My blue has been rubbed off on my cold pipe because of my water line fittings. Granted, its metal on metal, but I thought it would have stood up a bit better.

Go for it Mike! The turbine housings can be just black though. Green is for enviromentalists and we are for sure their worst enemy.

Ya I hear ya. I think that Silverline did an awesome job with my stuff so far. The powder coating isn't indestructible, just it looks nicer than a spray bomb. I'll probably be taking the ceramic stuff to Impact in Edmonton, they promised me a 1 week turnaround time. Top gun said two weeks, but I have one friend that still waiting 4 week for stuff.

I'm going on referral on Impact, been told that they had good luck with getting parts done and done on time. I like the shinny ceramic gloss look on stuff, kinda looks like chrome, but it tarnish/stains easy. Wouldn't mind trying it out on the compressor housings. I just hate the aluminum look as it losses its silverish aluminum look over time.

The turbine housing/bearing housing tend to rust from use. I just want the twins to have a long shiny life of being shinny. The VHT works well, done a few sets that way.

I think Brad had his manifold done with the chrome like finish at Impact, and it started rusting not too long afterwards. Might want to double check that.

Mine was done in a flat black ceramic that is supposed to be good to 2500 degrees. It's rusting though and I'm quite disappointed. If I could do it again I would do it in the chrome ceramic. Daniela has had her exhaust manifold it the chrome for a few years and it still looks great, no rust. Daniela had hers done at impact, mine were done elsewere

Yep - Impact. Did mine in 2008, the ceramic chrome look, still looks great. A tiny bit of off-color at the back 2 cylinders because I had the ESPAR mounted there for a couple of years and I think the heat changed the color a bit, but the near the front cylinders its the same as the day it was done. Few days TAT.

I say go with chrome look also. I had my ats manifold done there in 09, still looks the same. Buddies twin turbo ats kit was done black, its all fallen off. Was told it will never come off, or they will redo it. We just dont fell like taking the twins off. Impact was the place I used also, they told me they do likely 95% of that type of coating in the edmonton area. There pretty much the same staff that left perfection powder coating & started impact.

Here is a sample of what we have in the works. Just got the manifold yesterday. I have to re-work the manifold design some to work right.
Twin turbo porno show.

That looks different from the manifold on the Steed website. Is that one raw, not coated?

Yes it is different than the standard manifold. There are a few issues with the manifold that we have to address prior to installing it into a truck. Tate is going to use that manifold on one of his twin projects.

I want to coat the manifold after we have done all the machining work and welding done. We are the first outfit to run this manifold in this configuration, so as usually there are a few bugs to work.
