2014 Dodge High EGT's w/ Juice

I have a 2014 3500 DRW, Aisin with Edge juice and the hot unlock. Has anyone noticed the EGT's are really high ? I have the juice probe in the manifold. Even on #5 they're high. 1300-1500 on a short blast. On 6 it's literally 4 seconds into the throttle and it's defueling. My deleted 08's EGT's were a little high too but nothing like this. I'm gonna try a CAI hopefully this will help.

IMO take the tuner out. Why do you feel you need it?

What Chris said... Edge just adds timing and throws fuel at the truck to make power.

I hear ya, but his 2014 3500 is a hell of a truck as is. I can't imagine any scenario where he would "need" more power, unless he likes to race. Just seems like that tune is a recipe for potentially damaging a very nice and expensive truck. There would be no way I would tow with that (totally unnecessary anyway) given high EGTs as the norm.

The Aisin's already have a bunch more stock power than your 08, with the same turbo.... What did you think was going to happen when you throw one of the hotter, EGT wise, modules on there?

Personally I don't see why... I am big into mods, but when I was researching a new truck last fall I couldn't find any good way to add power, and for towing I don't see it being needed either. The ratios of the Aisin work very well.

If you want a race truck get an older truck where deletes where easier. I also don't think there is much out there to strengthen the Aisin, unlike the 68RFE.

Everyone who has ever ran a E J/A on a HPCR has noticed higher than normal EGT's, that's how they run and one reason they aren't very popular.

High EGT's

Hope you get an answer to your question rather than unsolicited opinioins stating you don't need something.

The beauty of owning a vehicle is to make it your own and customize it.

Ignor those who opose your quest and keep searching. I'm interested in understanding why.

I have always heard that Edge may not be as good as some others.

The why is how edge does the tuning, more fuel and improper timing. The lower timing creates excess heat and excess drive pressure. It's one of the reasons they aren't the most popular.

its not about US telling him what he needs or doesn't need, its about stating facts. I have used EJA with 2 previous trucks. 1 being a Dmax and other being my 07 5.9 megacab. on the dmax it didn't run to bad and temps were not to crazy. on the dodge however, it would spike to 1350 pretty fast and fall on its face (because of defuel settings cause I didn't want to go over that set point). I removed the EJA (only had to run it for a week to find out I didn't like it plus I was testing programmers/tuners at the time) and installed a smarty. Now I know we are talking 6.7 on this thread but this is an example here so don't start shooting off the mouths and beating me up for nonsense. Once I installed the smarty, the truck dropped over 300 degrees in EGT and would pull much harder and longer before it reached 1350 (even with the EJA I still had mechanical gauges installed just as I do on my 4th gen with running H&S Blackmaxx. I also had great luck with the smarty on my current truck as I was on the beta team. I ran the JR on the truck for MANY miles without issues.

so if ya wanna get on and bash the ones trying to help and tell the OP to "Ignor those who opose your quest and keep searching" then what is the purpose of this and many other forums. He asked a question, people answered
