Rear end problems behind Aisin?

I am on the verge of buying a 2015 3500 with the Cummins/Aisin combo. Just for giggles I asked the dealer to price out a 2016 for me. What I learned was that starting in 2016, the Aisin can only be ordered with DRW. He said it was because there were rear end problems in SRW models behind the Aisin. He said the Aisin's were too strong for the SRW rear ends. Apparently that's also the reason why the 2016s are getting a torque increase. They had to beef up the rear ends and to make sure people don't have problems that's why you have to now buy DRW to get the Aisin.

Anybody know anything about that?

I'm calling BS on this. Plenty of 11.5" axles surviving behind high HP Cummins diesels.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the rear on the 3500 SRW is basically the same as the 3500 DRW?

Don't ever believe a salesman. At times the SRW Aisin combo has been difficult to get/order but that's not because of failures. The salesman as usual is misinformed.

I posted this question to a forum on another site as well, and so far the responses have been unanimous everyplace. Thanks for all the input.

I have a 2016, 3500, srw, sb, with Aisin that ships this week. Not sure where the salesman is getting his information, but it sure appears to be wrong.

So, if your 2016 is shipping next week this means they are already (or almost ready) to hit the streets? Everything I've read says the 16's are not going to be available until October-ish?

Coming soon to a street near you! Checked again and was told it ships next week and I should see it in Oregon two weeks from then. I have seen ship days move up or down from their estimate. Doubt it will get here early.

My mistake. Ships the week of July 19th, not this present week.

If a salesman's lips are moving.............................well, you know what I mean.

Chrysler Trucks (Build Out Final Order Start Up Dates)

I know the disclaimer at the bottom.....but I'd rather believe they'd start production later rather than sooner.
