Wow - what a difference

After a year of driving my truck with the standard mirrors, I got and installed the tow mirrors (bought off the lot; this was the only option I wanted the truck didn't have).

VERY different sight picture; it's going to take a while to get used to it, including the blind spot mirror. More visibility, but I guess I used to look in the upper left corner of the old mirror, because I notice the cut out as someone comes up on me 2 lanes over. I'm not complaining - just noting the differences.

I do like the bigger glass and viewing area and the convex mirror will be very nice, once I incorporate a new scan. Plus the truck just looks better with them compared to the smaller basic mirrors.

Next, Putco Boss w2w bars....

You will grow to love those new mirrors. I think they are awesome. Last time I towed I even forgot to fold them out and still had no problems seeing behind me....

Did you notice any change in the interior noise level? Cruising 65+ on my truck, I swear the mirrors are making a roaring sound. When I close the mirrors the sound is greatly reduced, but not gone. I hesitate to bring the truck to the dealer to "adjust" the doors when the large towing mirrors may be the main cause. Thoughts?

I just did a 1k mile trip with a enclosed car hauler with the tow mirrors flipped out. I couldn't tell any noise difference between the two positions.

I adjust the mirrors a little bit higher to get the blind spot mirror up above the road surface. It seems to give me a more useful horizontal view.

Nope, I haven't noticed any difference in noise difference at all. I haven't put them in the tow position yet because I want to get comfortable with the down position first, then I'll spend some time with them flipped out to get used to that sight picture, too.

I drive about 25 miles to work each day, most of them on the highway between 50 and 70 MPH.

i guess it may be silly of me but i leave mine in the tow position all the time. seems like it makes it easier to see past the dually fenders and i think it makes the truck look cool with them out. almost makes it look bigger (as if it needed to look bigger )

I sure like the tow mirrors too. The only problem with mine is the passenger side shakes more than the drivers side. Do any of you know of way to maybe tighten it up a little? Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks Wayne

if I had towing mirrors, I'd have them flipped out all the time. I don't know if I could ever get used to having the convex mirror in the upper portion of the mirror...

My dealership sold them to me at wholesale - a year after I bought the truck. They said they would when I got the truck, but I said I wouldn't be ready until next (meaning this) summer, they said no problem. Price was $292.60. Took me about an hour to install (anyone need some standard mirrors?)
