Window Auto Down Function Not Working Properly
Window Auto Down Function Not Working Properly
The "auto down" function for the driver's window on my wife's 06 Mega Cab does not roll the window all the way down before it stops. It goes down about 75% then stops. I can roll it all the way down manually, without using the auto function. If I push down on in while it is in the auto function, it will go all the way down but i have to push pretty hard. The window operates smoothly and it doesn't seem like the motor is having to work extra hard to roll the window down. Any ideas on how to fix it?
I forget how those work... But it sounds is resitance based as in resistance through the window motor is monitured to see when the window reaches the bottom of the track. It will probably be an issue with the window motor itself.
I'm just guessing right now... I'll look for the wiring diagram.

There is nothing in the wiring diagram that shows the auto down feature so it must be a circuit breaker of sorts built into the switch. Because you can push on the window and the auto down works makes me think it is the window motor.
As Speedy said, there's nothing in the wiring that holds the power on so it has to be a mechanical function in the switch itself.
If it'll operate by holding the switch down there's nothing wrong with the motor. If you're pushing down on the button to get it to operate in auto then it's definitely the switch.
