Idle-Up Function (Not the cold weather function)
I haven't been here for about 2 years and now have a question.
I have a 2007 3500 Dodge with the 6.7 engine and 6 speed transmission. I have a little trouble stalling the engine when pulling a load when starting.
I have also had a 2001 3500 Dodge with the 5.9 engine and 6 speed transmission. Never had the problem of stalling the engine, in fact it would burn the clutch out before the engine would stall.
My question is, What did they do the the pumps to allow the rpm's to drop to the kill zone of 500 rpm? Can this function be changed?
Thanx, atch

I had that problem with my 07 5.9 and it went away as soon as I put a programmer on it. After that I could almost dump the clutch on a 2nd gear start with a load on it. I wouldn't touch the throttle until clutch lock up unless I was racing.
