Weep Hole inspection

I printed off instructions from a post on our site a while back on how to check the water pump weep hole for blockage. It shows a pencil either pointing at or with the tip in the weep hole('03). It says to look at the weep hole with your "Nose above the O in the Caution Fan warning." I have no problem seeing the location, etc. But- even when I use a trouble light, flashlight, try different angles of view, etc. I can't see the "hole". There's the rad hose from above, the belts from the side, etc... Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong, or have to take off the rad hose, or am I just crazy! What am I doing wrong??

What makes you suspect a blocked weep hole? And what's so bad if it is blocked?

Nothing makes me suspect it. However, as part of your regular maintenance schedule (along with oil changes, air filter inspection,...) your manual says to check it. What would happen if the weep hole has blockage...I'm not sure.

I think mainly you are supposed to look for signs of coolant- hopefully to catch a failing water pump before it dumps on you on the side of the road.

You can't find the hole most of the time till it starts spewing coolant. Don't worry about it...

Don't worry be Happy it's not leaking. But relay do keep a eyeball on once in will so you don't get left on side of the rode.

Thanks guys! If it's leaking, apparently it'll be more than just a little dampness. Now I know what to look for!
