Water Pump Weep Hole
Water Pump Weep Hole
Several times in the past there has been a thread where the CTD owner could not find the weep hole on his water pump. I never saw anyone respond to this problem. The weep hole on mine was on the driver’s side of the pump and I assumed that all of them were the same. I recently changed my water pump and there has been a change that has caused this confusion. The weep hole on the new pump is actually a depression in the casting where the flange bolts to the block. Unless knowing it is there it would probably be missed as it is not a hole in the pump, but rather a channel cast into the flange. It exits the bottom of the pump, against the block.
Re:Water Pump Weep Hole
Just look on the bottom of the flange just about in the center of the pump, not sure how it indexes with the bottom bolt. You might clean it with a piece of baling wire, the vent is not as large as the almost 1/4 hole in my original one.
