No, not unless you want to take the chance of chewing up a new set of tires. Like mega-engr said, the head attachs to the wheel and all your adjustment is in the suspension and steering.

can you please reconfirm the part numbers.

I only ask this because when i look them up to buy on multiple mopar parts warehouses some of the descriptions for the bolts and nuts don't seem to be correct for 08. All of them list 03-07. They may use the same bolts, but I just want to be sure before I order.

Thanks,

Does this new setup replicate the 98/99 style?

If so, anybody who has the old style steering should change it out now, thats dirt cheap for the whole linkage assy.

I got a new tie rod, drag link, and steering damper. Not sure why anyone would need a new pitman arm unless it or the drag link end had come loose and wallowed out the holes.

Thanks,
Those are the part numbers i have written down. You might want to give your dealership a shout though and see if the part numbers for the nuts and bolt correspond to the part number for the kit. I've got to run back by my dealership this afternoon and i will see what i can find out.

Does the new damper have a stud on the bar end or an eye?

Is this new setup covered under the 7/70 powertrain warranty (I have an 04.5) or only the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty?

I have 69,500 on mine right now, and if it's covered still, I'm on my way to the dealer tomorrow...

It's an eye on each end.

I assume it's only under the 3/36 warranty.

The angle of the pitman arm is way different,if you use all your suspension travel the stud will come down and hit the lower link. The new arm aims the stud at a different ange clearing the link

In that case I would think the 08+ bracket along with a Rancho RS5412 stabilizer that has eyes on both ends should work.

Got a pic?
You're talking about the stud on the drag link end at the pitman arm hitting the tie rod? I don't see how this could happen with the old or new style steering. By changing the steering from an inverted Y to an inverted T the relationship of the tie rod fore/aft is unchanged in relation to the pitman arm.

Why the new steering box? Mine has a constant seep, it is always wet, never drips but is always wet.

New to posting--more a reader than a poster--not on the computer that much I guess, but I have been following these threads on the steering linkage. Anybody check the prices recently? I am told by Dan at Bremerton Dodge [dodgeparts.com] that the linkage parts # has been superceded again from 52122362AB to AE,[E for more Expensive]? $222.00 [was $138.00] The dampener is the same # 52122370AA $101.04 Am I getting a yank job,or has anyone else noticed this increase?I was told they are on a backorder so I ordered a set to lock in the price before they go up again.
