Fisher,
I know the Thuren Track Bar does not offer much room for a drop pitman. My knuckle hits my trackbar when I hit a bump and have the wheels turned. Plus the adjustment sleeve hits too. I got to spin those clamps so the bolts face out and hopefully it will give it enough clearnace!
I forgot to do that today while I was changing all my filters and oil! Shoot!

I did not read the entire thread, so please bare with me.
My early 04 shows an outstanding steering recall on dodge.com. It still has the original inverted y steering, with all original parts. Both outer tie rod ends have some play in them, and i have been geeting some wandering and death wobble. I have replaced the upper and lower balljoints.
Will this recall replace the worn parts? Anything else i should know before i bring it in? Thanks guys.

The recall is against the steering upgrade, not the original equipment, at least that was the way it was on the 2006. If you had the steering upgraded, then the recall applies. If you have the original then it does not. The dealer will take a look at the truck to see which version you have. If you still have warrantee left and complain about death wobble they should upgrade the steering. If you don't have warrantee left, its $800-$900 out of pocket to have the dealer do it. $300-$400 in parts for the DIYer.

When I had my early 07 in for a service with about 10,000km on it they changed the pitman arm without me making any reference to the steering. The dealer said it was a recall being done.

WOW! After reading almost this whole thread, I am more confused than ever! My steering is due, with over 178000 miles on the clock, and unknown replacement (bought used) I would like to "upgrade" not go back to stock.
Kore seems to have this upgraded stock unit with new pitman arm, but at $500 that's a far cry from the original $222 in 2008.
I have never experienced the famous "death wobble" well maybe once during a emergency avoidance procedure. just a little shimmy during the move over to the other lane.
There is play in the steering, a clunk in the steering shaft and the dealer says all my steering components need replacing. I don't want to spend over $2000 to get my truck to a safe level of steering confidence. what are my options? this "mopar factory steering system retrofit" doesn't seem to be that well time tested.
I'm thinking carli upper and lower ball joints, borgeson steering shaft, and just going with the stock tie rods.
Keep in mind my job relies on this truck without it I have no work. I can't pull a trailer to the jobsite with my wifes honda civic! or my v star 1100 for that matter!!
