try to figure out who is right...need numbers

Hey guys I am trying to figure out the differences between my 06 mega cab dually 3500 and a friend's single axle 3500 same year and trim. I think the only real difference in the two besides the dually and single is mine has a 6 speed in it. Any help would be nice....need towing weights gvw and all that fun stuff. thanks for any help....Shawn

I'm pretty sure that the single axle truck has a little higher gvwr....obviously not in the real world but on one stickers...i remeber a sales man pointing out that the truck i wanted (single tire qcab shortbed) could "out haul" the same truck with duals...that was almost as funny as me buying a truck from somewhere else the next day (for roughly 8G's less).

I think the 3500 SRW is GVWR rated at 9900; the DRW is 11500.

The 2500's are rated 8500 or 8900; can't recall offhand.

Basically, all three trucks carry the same basic GCWR 21k-23k.

In case you did not know:
SRW - Single rear wheel
DRW - Dually
GVWR - Gross Vehicle Weight Rating = weight on the truck's axles
GCWR - Gross Combined Weight Rating = Total weight of truck, trailer, and all goodies inside, including warm bodies.

HTH

The 2500 is 9200 and the mega dually is rated less than the regular QC dually. Basically the heavier the vehicle is the less GVWR it will have even equipped the same. That's why the 2wd is rated for more than the 4wd and the auto is rated for more than the 6 speed. It's because the 2wd and the auto trucks weigh less.
