Tire Tatoo

Yes, my truck is dirty but it shouldn't have rendered it invisible.

Last night, a little Mazda decided to merge onto the freeway over a solid white line (illegal in CA) by pushing my truck out of her way. Her excuse? "I was in front of you".

I think I might have to replace my center hub cap thingy. By the photo, you can see the blackish circle in the middle and the black marks on the outer edges of the 'caps'. This and the tire were the major impact points to her driver's door. The second pic is of her driver's door with evidence of tire rub and a hub nuggie. The third pic is where her side view mirror struck just under the "Turbo Diesel". I'll check this in the daylight and see if it it worth a day or two in the shop. I'm kinda doubting it.

So, any idea what a new cap may cost?

I had an older gentleman pull over on me the same way. I got lucky though all he got was the center cap. $75.00 at the dealer. Had the alignment checked too. Total bill, $148.00. His ins paid it without question. His, on the other hand was probably close to $2000 worth.

Rubbin' is racin'....

Wait, wrong topic

Her "I was in front of you" won't hold up to the insurance with those photos.

This is why I like to keep a camera in my truck. Although if this happens to me it will be the one time I don't have my camera

A few months ago on my way to work a young gentleman on his way to school failed to see me slow down, turn on my left turn signal and begin to turn. I guess being a 2500 QC wasn't big enough. Orrrrr.... Maybe it was his texting that was taking place distracting him.

At any rate he hit me running about 40 mph just as I turned left onto a side road. His poor Dodge Neon never stood a chance. Just before he hit me he slammed on the brakes and his front bumper went right under my hitch receiver. Folded his hood in half, radiator was pushed back into the motor and folded over the top of the engine, right front headlight was completely knocked out. He hit me so hard it spun me sideways and almost into another truck.

After surveying the damage I wiped the paint chips from his bumper off of my bumper and called it a day. Not a scratch except for blue paint on my hitch receiver. His car was junk...

Dave, I appreciate your generous offer. I cleaned off the hub and can find absolutely no damage to the cap. I rubbed out the fender below the "Turbo Diesel" and out of the 3 rub marks, the one towards the back and the center rubbed out real well. I'm not going to lose any sleep over the darker mark in the front by the lense. I think I'm done with this incident.
Again, thanks,

Man, I would try to get some justice from them. I'm not saying grab your neck and claim an injury that is not there, but they hit you.

I had a small incident like this, and I made it worth my while. Why let them get away with being a retard?

If anyone needs center caps, look on ebay, because I had to replace one that was knocked off by a dumb a$$ that was not paying attention and squeezed me between his trailer and a semi. Anyway my wife found 4 on ebay for around $40 with shipping. They had come off of a used truck, because they were dirty, but in perfect shape.
