Stupid switch question
Stupid switch question
Ok, The 04's have two blanks between the switches for the heated seats. Mine are both dummies and their is nothing there. Are these used for anything? Is there an option I forgot to get, like maybe the electric message-o-matic seats?
Re:Stupid switch question
Those are for the ejection seats. Dodge deleted that option, when it was discovered that a moon roof wasn't offered on the Dodge Rams. Seems a couple of owners were a bit curious about the switches and pushed them; with nasty results. So Dodge now puts blanks in instead.

Yep I am one of the couple of curious owners that just couldn't leave them alone and had to try them. You should see the dent in the roof. Didn't hurt this old hard head at all though. Do not try this at home!

Since mine was built late (05/22) they must have already deleted the ejection seats, which I understand were included with the bun toaster option on the Laramie

When you push the switch on the left of center you increase your horsepower and torque numbers by 300 percent. When you push the swith on the right side of center you increase your miles per gallon to 75 mpg. Unfortunately, like most performance options you can't push both of them at once so you either get great perfomance or great fuel economy.
If you didn't order either of these little know options then the buttons don't do anything other than take up space. Perhaps some day they will be for something.

The manufacturer of the Dodge leather seats also makes the seats for F*rd. The one on the left calls a flatbed towtruck. The one on the right calls a taxi. Since this option is rarely needed on a Dodge, they don't bother to wire them. They're cheaply made, and known to wear fast on the F*rds due to their use frequency.

6.0 PSD diesel. Second switch was used for calling the taxi but now is used to call Ford to have 6.0 diesel truck buyback done.
