Shower Like Water Pouring In!
Heavy rain yesturday & much to my disbelief water was pouring in on my 20008 3500 mega from the grab handles on the A pillers & from the ceiling mounted dvd player! unbelievable! opened the sun roof & it was dry all in there, must be coming in from the seams along the roof or maybe the little antenna thing on the back of the roof. when the snow melts off the roof later I'll check it out. Made an app. with the Dodge dealer for next week. the service guy said to me " it would be better to wait till its warm out for us to check for water leaks"! I said I dont think I could wait 6 weeks! Anyone ever have this problem?

Yes, do have clearence lights. I'll check them out. I cant believe how much water was coming in through the dvd player- the water must have pooled above the headliner then when i started driving it was just pouring out. Going to try to have Dodge change the headliner & dvd player or else the truck will get that moldy stink to it.

Tell them you are very allergic to mold spores and you have itchy eyes when you are driving it already.... Otherwise they will probably NOT change anything out.
20008.... That is a REALLY NEW truck... Like 18,000 years newer than mine!

I had issues with my cab lights. I took them off and put some silicone around the holes on the top of the cab, and some in the screw holes before I re-installed them. Have not had a problem since. Good thing you are still under warranty.

Best to have it changed completely if you may be sensitive to any molds, or if any of your family is, or if you ever try to sell the truck to someone who may be.... You get the idea....

I'd be absoulutely livid if the roof leaked on my truck that has a $45k sticker!
I got a 36 year old Jeep with a soft top that doesn't leak.

there is a TSB for the older ones. mine does teh same thing. you put more silicone around teh welds under the weather strip or something. Mine leaked long before I added clearance lights.

Yep, sure did! I have one of the few '05s with a sunroof. It's been a while, but I had a small steady stream of water coming out of the upper bolt hole of the right A pillar cover. Further examination revealed that the headliner above the cover and the floor mat below it were soaked. The sunroof area was dry upon opening it. It did this only in a downpour, especially when the nose was parked uphill. This was a few weeks before the 3/36 warranty was up, so off to the squealership I went. It seems I'm always lucky at being unlucky! Anyway, it turned out that the sunroof drain tube on that side, which goes down the center of the A pillar, was partially pinched at the factory and had become clogged. I hope this helps!
PS: Hopefully you won't have any latent underdash or mold problems with all that interior water (I didn't), but document everything with the dealer for when you're out of warranty and get a copy (I did).

Bringing it to dealer tomorrow, never fun. I think i heard some fish swimming around under the passenger seat this morning. Plenty of water for them, have to remember to feed them!
