Question for the "handy" types, shower

Well you were workin' with the toilet earlier, so here's a shower question. The instructions that came with the door are missing, but everything else is there. I have a glass "pivot-type" shower door. I put in the shower cabinet, but haven't run any water pipes yet. The question is Does the shower head go on the shower wall on the hinge side, or the latch side. Cabinet is in, door is installed, but I'll be darned if I can remember which side that water should spray from.
Ya gots ta admit, this is an "other" question.

whichever works best... our downstairs shower has the head on the same side as the hinges... upstairs it's the opposite.

just run it however fits the room/shower best.

I would say hinges opposite of the shower head (shower head, latch side). Reason, so when your get in you can adjust the water temp without burning/freezing from the water.

point shower head at wall, turn on water, adjust temp, get in, point shower head at you!

sometimes you just gotta work around how the house is laid out... you want the shower door to allow you to get in/out of the shower easily, and sometimes you run into limitations on where the water lines can be run (as is the case on the 2nd story of our house)

Thanks guys. This is new basement construction, so all walls are open for now. I can hook it on either side. I was thinking the latch side would be best because of how the door and the "filler" panel over lap. Less chance of blowby when the shower is running. But sometimes, my way of thinking is only logical to me . Thanks for the help so far. Rick

That was exactly my line of thinking when we installed ours.
