s&b air intakes

Anybody using one? I see on their web site that they have a $100.00 rebate if you purchase both. Just wondering-good-bad.

What do you mean by that? More power? better mileage? Lower EGT's?

didnt know they made eldows either, but i love my intake. It was the first mod I made to the truck. The only downside, and its only bad if youre a lazy ***, is the filter cleaning/oiling process. But, its good to get in there and look around! The airbox looks good, sounds good and works alot better than the stock box

I am wondering if that is the new intake elbow, cause the old one they had for sale like 1 month ago got recalled cause they were falling apart under high boost.

Just took mine off...

Pluses:
  • even better low-end throttle response right after cleaning, almost jumpy off the line.
  • turbo whistle
  • 1 or 2 better mpgs right after cleaning

Minuses:
  • MPG and throttle response advantages seem to disappear a few weeks after cleaning.
  • Cleaning takes time (maybe 1/2 hour and should dry overnight) and money$$ for oiling kits.
  • I got dust in my intake tube once or twice, but that may have been due to previous design's lack of a "home" location on the tube-to-filter interface. Easy to get the alignment/engagement off on old design, not sure about new one.
  • I actually got slightly worse (higher) EGTs when pulling heavy near redline.
