Everything I hear is to go with the AFE ProGuard 7 series filters. They meet minimum filtration requirements for Cummins. I've had one (the whole intake system) on my truck for about 15,000 miles and haven't had any problems.
Just my 2 cents...

I was going to get the AFE with the Progaurd 7 until I saw the AirRaid QuickFit. Very easy install, utilizes bottom half of stock system and can be made "stock" again in minutes. Filter size is huge, it is almost double size of the standard conical filters I was looking at and utilizes their "Syntheflow Technology". I was real skeptical at first when the local shop showed it to me. I watched them install it on an 04 and listened to them run it for awhile. I watched the owner take off on a tire smoking test run and come back. We all checked the filter minder. It hadn't budged out of the reset position. I had replaced my stock filter once and immediatly sucked the filter minder to 35%.
I decided size does matter when it comes to filtration area and I couldn't ignore the size of the filter they utilize with this system. There are some threads concerning the Progaurd7 that expressed some concerns about it drawing down the filter minder pretty hard after installation. I haven't been able to budge the filter minder with some serious go pedal stomping. It is brand new though so I can't give you a long term opinion on filtration effectivness.
I'm hoping I didn't buy a filter on steroids that flows so well the filter minder doesn't know it's there and all the dirt is headed for the turbo!! I can guaruntee you if I thought that were really the case - there's no way in heck I'd put it on my truck.
I know the stock filter sucked!
Good Luck with what you decide is right for you!

My PG7 sucks the filter minder down to about 1/2 way. If I remember it only started doing this after cleaning it the first time. I have tried a few other cleaning/oiling techniques but it still drags down the minder. I can't see this as being good. I think we need a larger filter element but I am no expert and my truck has mods that make it suck more air. I suppose my question would be if the PG7 is OK then why is the minder moving?
