Air Raid any good?
I was looking at 3 different drop in air filters: TrueFlow Foam, Amsoil Foam, and Air Raid gauze w/synthetic 5th layer. Can anyone tell me how they flow/filter in regards to each other and if anyone has tried more than one of these, how you liked each one. Of course they all say the flow great and filter great as well, I guess if I just wanted one that filtered good I would get a new stocker...I want considerably more flow too. And sorry 90 bucks plus shipping for a drop in aFe is out of the ball park IMO. Thanks in advance!

I was going to go with the True-Flow until I saw the Airaid demo at a local parts shop. Had it for about 1800 miles now and really like it! I've heard the foam filters are great at filtration but don't really improve air flow over the stock drop-in.

I may be totally wrong here, but I was told that Airaid uses a K&n filter on their intake system. I looked at one a while back and did notice the filter looked very much like a K&N.. Maybe I'm confusing it w/ a different model or brand.

I believe the Air Raid is similar to the K&N in its construction, oiled gauze, red colored, etc. The main difference is that the Air Raid has a synthetic 5th layer that helps filter a little better, but I will sacrifice what that probably cost me in air flow versus what it probably gained me in filtration. I too have heard that foam does not flow that much better than paper...

Very Happy with my AirRaid Quickfit. If you ever worry about looking stock again - it takes all of about 5 minutes to change back to original equipment. Most of that is wrestling that darn filterminder out and in.
