Ranch Hand Grill Guard Installation

Going to pick up a ranch hand grill guard tomorrow and was wanting to know about the install from someone whom may have done one. Is there any drilling involved to install? Any special tools needed? - Thanks

I have a Ranch Hand Guard on my truck... It did not require any drilling or special tools. The hardest part of the installation, by far, is getting the new Ranch Hand frame brackets bolted up. Three of the four bolts are pretty easy to access on the frame through the stock bumper, but one of them is a real pain. You'll see what I mean when you instal yours.

My only tip would be to have a couple friends around to hold the thing up while you put the bolts in and tighten the actual brush guard to the new brackets... Then stare at it for a while with your buddies to make sure it sits level and check the clearance at the headlights/front fender corners. You'll know when it's good because the top bar will look level (left to right, parallel with thew ground), the uprights will look roughly 90 degrees to the ground, and the gap from the bars to the fenders should be the same on both sides.

I'm very happy with mine in terms of fit and quality. My only beef was how damaged the paint was from shipping. I had a few good dings and deep scratches that really set me off! When you pay that much for something, they should definitely wrap carboard/bubble wrap around everytyhing, not just the points where it touches the pallet. Mine didn't even have cardborad or any protection where the banding went across it to strap it down to the skid and it definitely rubbed the paint off there as well. Good Luck!

How about a picture, and a sourc & price for the Grill Guard?

With all my traveling to Rodeos, I have been very fortunate with respect to catching a critter.

Here is the place that I picked mine up at. Price was $445 without installation. $505 with installation. It was not too hard to install. Me and my brother in law installed mine this afternoon in a little over two hours. If you are in Houston, this was the best price I found. Will post pics later.

Hi, I recently bought a ranch hand from a 3rd party but they lost the bracket. Do you have a picture of them so I can make my own??
