Miles between oil changes

I'm considering starting to use Amsoil 15W 40 HD Synthetic motor oil. I would like to know what kind of mileage are you all are changing oil at using Synthetic. Is it true that uder normal driving conditions I could get 15k between oil changes.

Yes, that is true.

For best protection on extended drain intervals though, I would also recommend strongly the amsoil BMK-11 oil bypass system and filter.

Everyone's truck is different. If you want to extend your change intervals then I highly recomend doing oil analysis to find out if you should. I can go 15-20k on my oil before it needs changed and I do not run synthetic, I run a parafin based oil.

I go 10k on my Amsoil. But that is the normal drain interval.

I agree with above to use oil analysis to make sure what you are doing is ok.

I run Amsoil AME 15w40. I went 11k on this last sample and it was too long.

Soot was way to high for my short trips.

I will try another sample @ 5K and see what happens from there.

More fuel mods mean more oil changes.

A bypass filter is always a big plus.

Owners manual says 7500 severe duty, 15,000 Non severe on Dyno... I change my dyno every 3000 because I like to bond with my truck!

I've said it before, and I will say it again. I am going 25k between oil changes on this batch of Amsoil AME 15w40 HD diesel and marine motor oil. The plan is to do an oil analysis every 5k or 3 months, whichever comes first. Amsoil says that you can go up to 25k between oil changes for normal use. I only tow once or twice a year, and its only about 7k lbs when I do it. Oil analysis results will be posted here:
