Mega cab window crack

Just found my left rear mega window cracked. No apparent reason for this, sitting in garage. 5,000 miles. Do ya'll know if the dealer will warranty this without any smack? Any knowledge would be appreciated before I contact dealer tomorrow. Thanks

I just had my front drivers side repaired. This is the explaination I got on the cracking windows. DC put in a new laminate window, it is slightly thicker than the glass window. However, they did not modify the hardware causing the crack, it was replaced under warranty with glass. As I was told, DC is debating a recall because there is enough of these to warrent one. It will be for replacing all laminate windows with glass. This information came from my service writer.

Laminated side glass

I just had a RH front window crack. The dealer said it is rock chipped and the laminated glass cost slightly more than $500.00. I checked aftermarket glass shop, laminated glass $427.00, tempered $103.00, but I was told that the tempered glass would work but the window will rattle in the window track as the tempered glass is approx. 1/16 of an inch thinner than the laminated. 2006 Quad Cab LB DRW 6 Speed 5.9 CTD

Rock chipped? How do you rock chip a side window other than vandalism? That reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Keith Hernandez spit on Kramer. "this is where the laws of physics cease to exist...the lugey stopped in mid air...went over his shoulder...then turned right into his neck...

i got a small chip in the passenger window too, no kidding, rolling north on i-75 next to a semi and he kicked a stone up sideways, hit the window sounded like someone clapped really loud in the cab....gonna keep an eye on the rest of the glass though too.

I thought vandals also but sure enough rock chips in my driverside glass no cracks yet.How come it seems that all the glass problems are megacab specific?

After I posted that, I was thinking that rocks could deflect off the mirror. I get bugs all down the side windows from that.

I hope I never have a problem. The laminated glass is one of the reasons it is so much quieter inside an 06. I'd hate having to switch to the tempered glass.

My dealer said it was there first also, they fixed it.Then I had the second crack and they knew there was an issue.I heard it was a vendor problem,If there is a little chip in the edge of the glass it just runs
