Mega Cab A/C

Hello All, my new mega cab a/c and ventilation seems to be weak. It is as if it makes alot of noise and just doesn't move much air. I am wondering if I am the only one that thinks this or do you all have issues.

I came out of an f250 and never had to turn up the A/C past about half to get the same or more flow than the Mega.

I wish mine had a setting that was lower than 1. It moves a lot of air on 5.

If it seems this way only on the recirculation mode you may want to check if a piece of paper has found it's way onto the air inlet for the fan. This would restrict airflow.

By the way does the megacab have rear passenger a/c evaporator and vents? It does not show on the Dodges web site. Just curious.

I know it has vents. I think they are plumbed under the console so I am not sure if it has it's own unit or if it pulls off of the main.

The rear A/C seems to just pull off the main, I cannot find anywhere that the fan would be. Besides that I think they would have put a blower control for the rear if that was the case.

As far as the paper or something goes, I have checked that too. Seems to not be any better on recirc or not. I am thinking that either it just is that way, or that some door is messed up inside.

Thanks, Brady

I have the same problem with my 06 mega. its like the new vent design doesnt work as well.(had a 04.5 before.) In the mega you have to have the fan all the way up to get some airflow.

There are a couple of ways to check this out. One would be to sit there and feel for any flow differences between low medium and high. The other would be to go back to the dealer and compare differences between your's and a new truck.

If the flow differences are nil for low, medium and high or if your's is much lower than that of a new truck, the recirc door is probably busted and laying in the fan intake. Been there, done that. See my comment (#8) at https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=101085
