2007 Mega Cab Cab and Chassis
I have a friend that has seen one. My friend thinks it was a medium duty, but it had no badges. The truck was a 2wd, but had a solid front axle, dual rear wheel and about a nine foot flatbed. The frame was not the same as a pickup, from behind the cab all the way to the rear it was strait/flat(no hump over the rear axle). Sounds like a cool truck to me.

Dodge is coming out with a C&C for 2007. This has been confirmed by my Ford/ Dodge dealer for our fleet trucks. Dodge does not currently advertise their trucks as flat bed capable unless you get their "pick up box delete". We are stuck running 6. oh no's because of this issue. We are eagerly awaiting the new Dodge C&C's so that we can get rid of these terrible Ford's.

This is just a guess, but I think the new frame would be for medium duty trucks only. I don't think you will see a one ton mega cab longbox, that some people would like to see.

Basically what it comes down to is low bid. Since I work for a state college I have to deal with this. We write the specs for the new vehicle (car, truck, backhoe etc) then send out the bid specs to dealers with a closing date. On that date all bids are opened and 99.9% of the time the low bid wins. So in my fleet we have (1) dodge caravan, (2) ford windstar, (1)chevy malibu, (5) ford taurus, (4)ford trucks, (2) ford excursions, (2) dodge trucks, (2)chevy trucks. It's a real pain with maintenance with all the different filters and such to keep. We always get gas engines for our maintenance fleet (trucks) because of so many different drivers and the frequent amount of short trips.
