Laramie vs SLT Front Bumper

Is there any difference in mounting a Laramie bumper vs an SLT front bumper for my 2006 SLT 4x2? I want to put a Laramie bumper on because in my opinion, it'll make the front end look cleaner.

I wouldn't think so, as long as the bumper is the same year as your truck.

It shouldn't be a problem. I just but a front bumper off of an 06 on my 04.

You mean the 'sport' bumper, right?? Color same as truck. Yeah, it's a better look, I want one but can't bring myself to spend that kind of $$$. I'm thinking on just painting the bumpers, of course prepping 1st.

The sport bumper and laramie bumper are the same style, but the center bottom section on the laramie bumper is chrome and not color matched like the sport bumper. if i could find a mineral grey 06+ laramie (or sport, for that matter) bumper locally reasonably priced, i would do it. i think they look great.

There are two brackets and the main beam that are different between the two set ups. I just did mine on the newer 07 I got. It changes the truck so much for the better. All of the hardware is reused. The step pad can be reused also. The chrome insert snaps into place and helps secure the fascia to the inner beam. The fascias are different between the Sport and Laramie because of the opening made for this piece. Definately worth doing.

Could someone post pics and directions for this? It sounds like it's no problem, but pics would be nice. Thanks.

and where would be the best place to buy the laramie bumper at the cheapest price? do you have to get it through the dealership?

You can give Chris (ratlratl) a PM on the subject, he hooked me up with parts I needed. I was able to use most of the parts off the SLT bumper, the easiest way was to drop the entire factory bumper and put both the SLT and Laramie bumper side by side to put back together. Now that you guys have mentioned it I wish I would have taken pictures of the install.
