Starting to Debadge

I am debadging my black megacab and have a question. I have found that goof-off works pretty good and than use a citrus type of cleaner to get the fine layer of adhesive that the goof-off had smeared around. The SLT and 4X4 badges on the tail gate left a slighly raised imprint on the paint? Is this normal? Will polishing compound take this off? I can tell I will need to polish and wax the truck after I am done.

I had similar issues with the paint after debadging, I asked some of the DTR members and they suggested the Meguires scratch and swirl remover. It comes is a tube, its a liquid not a paste, took care of the paint where I removed the emblems, followed with a good hard wax.

A similar product to ^ is Meguiars Scratch-X, its also in a tube. I used 3M adhesive remover and some wd40, and alot of elbow grease.

Wink got to agree

debadging and tough race car adhesives get cleared quickly with 3M adhesive remover then WD-40 or clay bar (at body work shops). good coat of wax after a cleaning secures a nice armour coating! about one hour of work total.

I used a 3M eraser wheel and they came off with nothing left behind, no adhesive, no scratches. SUPER easy!!

the ashesive it gone but the paint looks embossed with the outline of 4X4 and SLT? I wonder if polishing will take this out?

Get you some Meguires Fine Cut cleaner and lightly wax that area with it. Afterwards clean the area and wax it like normal along with the rest of the truck. This should help.
