Question Decal instead of license plate

Any experience with using a decal instead of a "real" license plate on a front bumper in California?

I am planning on making a decal which I just put on the front bumper by scanning my plate and getting it over ro a decal shop...

Is that legal? That shop may not even do that.

I know that many states have gone to screen printing their plates but a decal may not fly. You would be best to ask LE that works traffic or maybe your dreaded DMV.

I haven't had a front plate in a LONG time, with no issues. That being said, I don't think I'd put a sticker on to replace my front plate. I'd just leave the front plate off.

I've actually been stopped for not having a front plate, yet I've always had one. Texas requires them. Oh, and no, I didn't get ticketed for not having it, because I had it.

I am leaving it off for now... I looked at the DMV vehicle code setion and couldn't find anything which tells me that it can't be a sticker. I does say, that if you got 2 plates issued, you have to mount "them"...
