Re:Dash Light flashing

Ken,
Are you talking at startup or when out driving? I have several lights that come on momentarily when starting.

So, are you liking the new wheels? Been strangly quiet from you - - I know, out having fun, aren't you.

Bob
ps: oooopppss, just noticed your post of "after delivery". Glad you are happy with it. Still enjoying mine. RK

Hi Bob,

This light comes on while driving just for a split second. Happened twice yesterday. During my drive today of about 40 miles I did not notice it.

Re:Dash Light flashing

KenR, Mine also did the "flashing light " deal, mine was the "check engine" light. Mine did it about 3 times when my truck had about 300-500 miles on it, then it stopped. I'm now over 5,500 miles on my truck, and still has'nt returned. Ive heard speculation that the light is caused by the clutch fan not engaging properly for a split second, thus, the flashing red check engine light.

Cat Cracker.

Re:Dash Light flashing

A few of us have noticed the check gauges light flash on for a split second now and again. Probably a software or hardware bug. Doesn't seem to be a real problem.

Re:Dash Light flashing

My truck still does it, I have 7000 miles on it. There is no pattern that I can see as to why.

Re:Dash Light flashing

I have 11000+ and my check gages light has flashed about 7 times now.Doesn't seem to be any pattern to driving, stopped, slowing down, speeding up.Nothing shows up on there puter when they plug in.Dealer was told to unplug the ecm and back again(still did it)they checked connector under dash(still did it).Now there just wating till the factory boys come up with a better idea.I would still take it to them so they at least have it on paper.Seems like the more miles you get the less it flashes. Now just as soon as I say that I will drive truck to work tommorrow and it will flash ;D

Re:Dash Light flashing

I am wondering if this is a timed condition search by the computer. If it lights momentarily, it may be dwelling a little longer on a particular pattern and your eyes catch it once in a while. If all is "very" normal, it passes by so fast it will not flash the warning light. I have never seen it, but I will be watching. Hey, just a thought after being driven insane by these computers. :

NuttyBob

Re:Dash Light flashing

The two times mine has flashed, it has been at highway speeds and is just a split second. My friend picked up his truck the same day as mine (they came in on the same truck) and his has flashed 4 times. He checked with the dealer today and they do not have any TSB on the problem.

I also had a light flash for a split second (don't know which one it was) and a Chime was heard for a second. Strange animal, my truck. I read the manual and do not find a place that indicates a chime.???????
