Cooper Discover ATR, HT, ST Any Feedback?
Cooper Discover ATR, HT, ST Any Feedback?
Has anyone had any experience with any of these Cooper tires in the stock size?
Are you guys that are using the brands other than Michelin still going with the "E" load range?
I pull trailers up to 11K lbs. and have concerns with the lower ratings.

Me and a friend of mine both have ST tires on our 3500 welding rigs. Mine weighs right around 13,500. They have been the best tires I've tried for my use, i.e. a lot of 80mph+ highway miles with a lot of off highway right of way/construction site miles in between. They have survived a lot of harsh rock (without the typical cuts and chunks coming off) and do pretty good in mud. I've got about 45,000 miles on mine and they are probably good for another 15-20,000.
Both of us are going to buy the same tires again, I'm really happy with them.
JTMcC.
I put ATR's on my wifes Suburban, but it doesn't see any heavily loaded use, but I'm happy with them as well. My welding rig tows well over 10,000 at times.

Got 54000 on set of ATR's. Still have about 20000 left on tread.
Nothing but good comments.
Rotate every 8000 when I change oil.
I never figured to get a year out of a tire but looks like these will.

in response to the questions concerning the cooper tires. I worked for a tire store that was primarly a cooper dealer. The atr's just came out about a year ago, good all terrain tire supposed to go more miles than my bfg's. I ran the st's on an f 250 that i previously owned, it would have never been stuck if it was not for that 6 ft ravine. If you want the look and the traction go with the ST. If you don't need all the traction and want more miles go with the ATR. I have BFG's now and i am going to go back with a set of coopers.
Thanks for the feed back.
I have decided to give them a try. I have a friend with a tire store and he could get the Mich. A/S for only $17.00 more than the Cooper ( his main line is Michelin) but he reccomended the Cooper because the A/S have such short life and poor traction.
He will sell me the set for $650.00 inc. mount and balance, is this a good price.

Good input, I didn't even see this post until after I submitted mine. I am thinking of going with the same line of tire. I would say that is a pretty good deal on those tires. I would go with it.
