I have a list of codes I came across on the net, and P0629 is Fuel Pump Relay Circuit High, or Fuel Lift Pump Control Circuit High.
Hope this helps.
Still waiting on my truck, stuck on the dock in Mexico.

Thanks pfmrof.I had no codes until they flashed for the slow fuel indicator. I'm wondering why it said 0630 this morning?

I just went to check it again, and it read 0631. It uded to go CODEE and then 0000. Now it goes CODEE, and then 0629, 0630, now0631.

I just phoned a dealer and talked to service. They said that sometimes you have your computer reflashed and it will give you false codes for a while until you do a certain number of starts to give it a chance to readjust...

I think you just got up early in the morning and started looking at your dash clock about, oh, let's say ONCE A MINUTE! Then you drank that first cup of coffee....

Your code is from the instrument cluster self test. The test is a result of holding in the trip odometer button and then turning the ignition switch on "run" (but not start).

The "06" part of the code means "MIL indicator output circuit open". The "29", "30", "31", etc. is how many times the ignition switch is cycled since the first time the code was set.

The following describes the "MIL" indicator........

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR
LAMP (MIL)
DESCRIPTION
A Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is standard
equipment on all instrument clusters (Fig. 22). The
MIL is located on the left side of the instrument clus-ter,
to the left of the voltage gauge. The MIL consists
of a stencil-like cutout of the International Control
and Display Symbol icon for “Engine” in the opaque
layer of the instrument cluster overlay. The dark
outer layer of the overlay prevents the indicator from
being clearly visible when it is not illuminated. An
amber Light Emitting Diode (LED) behind the cutout
in the opaque layer of the overlay causes the icon to
appear in amber through the translucent outer layer
of the overlay when the indicator is illuminated from
behind by the LED, which is soldered onto the
instrument cluster electronic circuit board. The MIL
is serviced as a unit with the instrument cluster.
OPERATION
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) gives an
indication to the vehicle operator when the Power-train
Control Module (PCM) on vehicles with a gaso-line
engine, or the Engine Control Module (ECM) on
vehicles with a diesel engine has recorded a Diagnos-tic
Trouble Code (DTC) for an On-Board Diagnostics
II (OBDII) emissions-related circuit or component
malfunction. The MIL is controlled by a transistor on
the instrument cluster circuit board based upon clus-ter
programming and electronic messages received by
the cluster from the PCM or ECM over the Program-mable
Communications Interface (PCI) data bus. The
MIL Light Emitting Diode (LED) is completely con-trolled
by the instrument cluster logic circuit, and
that logic will only allow this indicator to operate
when the instrument cluster receives a battery cur-rent
input on the fused ignition switch output (run-start)
circuit. Therefore, the LED will always be off
when the ignition switch is in any position except On
or Start. The LED only illuminates when it is pro-vided
a path to ground by the instrument cluster
transistor. The instrument cluster will turn on the
MIL for the following reasons:
² Bulb Test - Each time the ignition switch is
turned to the On position the indicator is illuminated
for about two seconds as a bulb test. The entire two
second bulb test is a function of the PCM or ECM.
² MIL Lamp-On Message - Each time the clus-ter
receives a MIL lamp-on message from the PCM
or ECM, the indicator will be illuminated. The indi-cator
can be flashed on and off, or illuminated solid,
as dictated by the PCM or ECM message. For some
DTC’s, if a problem does not recur, the PCM or ECM
will send a lamp-off message automatically. Other
DTC’s may require that a fault be repaired and the
PCM or ECM be reset before a lamp-off message will
be sent. For more information on the PCM, the ECM,
and the DTC set and reset parameters, (Refer to 25 -EMISSIONS
CONTROL - OPERATION).
² Communication Error - If the cluster receives
no lamp-on message from the PCM or ECM for ten
seconds, the MIL is illuminated by the instrument
cluster to indicate a loss of bus communication. The
indicator remains controlled and illuminated by the
cluster until a valid lamp-on message is received
from the PCM or ECM.
² Actuator Test - Each time the cluster is put
through the actuator test, the MIL indicator will be
turned on during the bulb check portion of the test to
confirm the functionality of the LED and the cluster
control circuitry.
On vehicles with a gasoline engine, the PCM con-tinually
monitors the fuel and emissions system cir-cuits
and sensors to decide whether the system is in
good operating condition. On vehicles with a diesel
engine, the ECM continually monitors the fuel and
emissions system circuits and sensors to decide
whether the system is in good operating condition.
The PCM or ECM then sends the proper lamp-on or
lamp-off messages to the instrument cluster. For fur-ther
diagnosis of the MIL or the instrument cluster
circuitry that controls the LED, (Refer to 8 - ELEC-TRICAL/
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER - DIAGNOSIS
AND TESTING). If the instrument cluster turns on
the MIL after the bulb test, it may indicate that a
malfunction has occurred and that the fuel and emis-sions
systems may require service. For proper diag-nosis
of the fuel and emissions systems, the PCM,
the ECM, the PCI data bus, or the electronic mes-sage
inputs to the instrument cluster that control the
MIL, a DRBIIIt scan tool is required. Refer to the
appropriate diagnostic information.

Man Handymantim- that has to be one of the longest replys in the history of the DTR! So it sounds like every time you test your guages and look for codes, this code shows up at the end because the MIL indicator comes on as part of the guage test? Bottom line- does that happen with your's and all others if they do the check? Is it going to do that at the end of the test, and maybe I just didn't notice it before because I turned of the key right after seeing 00 00? Is it normal??

No. You are getting code "06" because something is wrong. If everything checked out OK during the self test then all you would get is a "00 00".

Sorry for the long reply but it's a cut/paste from the manual.
