Unhappy A/C problem non recirc door

2006 Dodge ram 3500--A/C blows cold in rear and drivers side vents. Very little air out of passenger side vents. Defrost and all change of outlets works, however never get over a trickle from the two vents on passenger side dash? "thermostat" works and temp goes up and down. PUlled fan and checked recirc door and then reinstalled fan and observed recirc door with glove box out. Recirc door is operating correctly. Pulled most of center console/bezel to visually check as much of duct work as possible. Everything seemed ok except that the floor duct to back seat had been pull apart about an inch. Repaird that and noticeably more air to back. Could not see enough of passenger side ducts to see if someone had pulled some of that apart at sometime in past. Any suggestions appreciated as my wife is really torqued that I just bought the truck and didn't notice that until she was sitting there with temp 98. Forgot to mention that the little amount of air coming out of the passenger vents is cold, just very small volume.

Sounds like you have a mode door issue. Does it have dual climate control?

That is still where I would look, it may be broken on one side. I would also look at the Evaporator being clogged up with junk and needs a good cleaning. A cabin air filter would fix that, but we don't have them.

Never cleaned an evaporator. Do I just spray it with a steady stream of water? BTW, Thanks for your help. I am new to Dodge and diesel and it is eating my lunch right now.

I've got an 06 that is doing the exact same thing. I hope to tear into it this weekend to figure out what is wrong.

May have to pull it to clean it. Not sure if you can get to it in the box, dash will have to come out though. Use some good quality A/C condensor cleaner if you can shoot it with a sprayer.

OK, let me demonstrate my real degree of ignorance of A/C systems. I thought the evaporator was the coil and fins thing at the front of the truck. Where is the evaporator and what does it look like since I obviously don't know what I am talking about. Thanks again.

What you are seeing is the A/C condensor on the front of your truck. The evaporator is behind the dash of the truck. The evap is silver in color with the cooling fins.
