Aftermarket sub with stock system ?
Just wondering if it is at all possible to hook up a amp and sub up to the stock stereo. I have an 06 4X4 QC SB with the infinity system, 6 disc cd stereo and sirius any info would be great thanks.
You would have to tap into a set of speaker leads and use line level converters to knock the voltage down to amp input levels or get an amp that excepts high level inputs.

I'm doing that very thing in an '04. I spliced into the front door 6X9 speaker wires and used those wires as inputs into the 'high level' or 'speaker level' inputs on my amp. Not all amps have speaker level inputs, so be sure yours does or get one that has this kind of inputs. I found this solution the easiest to install and it works great. On the '04 Infinity system, only lower frequencies are passed from the factory amp to the front door speakers so you don't have to worry about crossovers and such. The rear speakers as a source are not good for this type of setup as the factory amp does not send low frequencies to the rear speakers. Use the front speakers as your amp source and you're good to go. Good luck.
MTX makes a self powered sub with speaker level inputs that mounts under the back seat in a 3rd gen QC.I'll let you know how it sounds after I install mine this weekend.

It works good, not audiophile quality or anything but the speaker level inputs are simple and cheap. I made a 3/4" plywood plate to hold an 8" sub and have it in my center seat storage.
