Ok. I gotcha. Thanks. Found it. My manual is written a bit differently, but essentially says the same thing. I found some other info that helped me understand why Dodge recommends HOAT. I summarized it and included a link below:
Apparently regular OAT coolant (regular pink/orange/red ethylene glycol based stuff) lacks the fast-acting corrosion resisting chemicals that the old yellow/green stuff uses, but contains long-lasting, slower acting chemicals, ergo the 5-year/100,000 miles rating). It works best at protection aluminum and cast iron parts. The yellow/green stuff contains faster-acting chemicals and protects copper/brass best, and requires more frequent changes (2 years). The HOAT, which is also known as G-05, is a hybrid that incorporates some fast-acting corrosion inhibitors as well as the long-lasting ones, ergo the longer durability (5 years/100,000K miles) and the recommended use by Dodge. The pink/red OAT stuff is less effective at protecting copper/brass, whereas the yellow/green stuff is less effective at protecting aluminum/cast steel. The HOAT stuff contains chemicals that address both.

The 5-year/100K Mopar stuff is HOAT. The 2-year Mopar stuff is non-HOAT. Dodges shows them both in their parts lists as recommended for the Dodge Ram with the 5.9L CTD. The pink stuff Autozone sells for about $7/gal is OAT.
The one type specifically not recommended by Dodge is Polypropylene-glycol, or non-toxic types of coolant.
Looks Like I need to do a flush and replace operation sometime in the near future, since I mixed about a gallon of OAT with my HOAT.

The Mopar Antifreeze/Coolant 3-Year Formula — Embittered Green (Part No. 04267020AB) is an Ethylene glycol based three-year formulation. This coolant is referred to as an inorganic additive technology (IAT) formulation. This coolant is specified for first and second generation Dodge Ram vehicles factory filled with three-year coolant. I am not aware of a Mopar 2 year coolant as you mentioned.
The Mopar Antifreeze/Coolant 5-Year/100,000 Mile — Embittered (Part No. 68048953AA concentrate) is available in one gallon concentrate and a 50/50 pre-mix . This HOAT G-05 formulated coolant is specified for the third generation to present Dodge Ram vehicles, as they were factory filled with 5-year/ 100.000 mile coolant.
With that said, The Valvoline Zerex G-05 HOAT is a cost effective option vs the MOPAR G-05 HOAT. In addition, Zerex G-05 has a service life of 5 years or 150,000 miles (250,000 km).

You're right. It was 3-year, not 2-year. However, I watched the parts/service guy look up my truck on his computer, and I read where both types were specified for my truck (see signature). Not to argue. I believe you. I will go with the HOAT, but I think others might benefit from being aware that both come up as appropriate for the 3rd gens on the Dodge parts computer, so that they don't get misled by price.

The guys at the Napa near me knew exactly what I was talking about when I said G-05 and even asked if it was for a diesel. $13 per gallon with my AAA discount.
